My Furman experience was one in a lifetime. Furman was a lively place outside classroom. I call Furman my second home because I felt a great sense of community.
The personalized and engaged four-year learning of the Furman Advantage provided me with opportunities to participate in several study away programs and a summer research project with my History professor. The wisdom and lesson from these experiences have prepared me for my current graduate study at Columbia University's Union Theological Seminary in New York city. It is definitely a blessing to be at Furman.
One of the great things that I have learned at Furman is professionalism. As a Neuroscience Major, Furman has given us many opportunities to take charge of our future career life through on-campus jobs, internships with hospitals, study away, and connecting with many professionals.
It is definitely life-changing and it has motivated me to pursue my dreams even stronger. The Furman Advantage allowed me to discover a variety of subjects and I ended up finding my passion in Chemistry, a subject I could not have imagined studying without having been able to try it at Furman.
On this beautiful campus, there is always a possibility to get engaged, academically and in your free time. I enjoy discussing tasks with the Student Diversity Council, talking to other international students, taking workout classes in the gym, or attending one of the many events around campus.
I love Furman! As a relatively small institution, I appreciate the sense of community especially being a long way from home. My absolute joy at Furman so far has been engaging in student life. The nearly 5,square-foot home was established as the Furman Alumni House in , though it has been linked to the university since becoming the summer home of Dr. It was likely built around the late s or early s for George Washington Green, who sold the home to Dr. Furman in Furman retreated to Cherrydale throughout his career and lived in the home full time following his retirement in The home changed hands several times in the twentieth century, and it was last owned by Umbro International.
